WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!

We’re so excited to finally be tying the knot—and even more excited to celebrate with all of you. It’s going to be a really special day!

We know most of you will know this already, but here’s a one-stop shop for everything you need to know about the big day (and the days around it).

With love,
Mags & Ryan

The 3 W’s

Where: Salt Spring Island!!! Our ceremony will be held at Ambledale Farms and our reception will be held at Beaver Point Community Hall (5 min walk apart)

When: Saturday, August 9th 2025. Kicking off around mid-day

What to wear: Think garden-party summer wedding

Important info

  • Getting to Salt Spring Island:
You get to the island via a 30 minute ferry.

Please note this is a non-bookable route, it is a 30 minute ferry from Victoria ferry terminal (Swartz Bay) to Salt Spring Island (Fulford Harbour).

There is a market here on Saturdays which is amazing, but also means more traffic to the island - if you are planning to come over Saturday morning I’d suggest getting to the ferry terminal 1.5 hrs early.

    Ferry schedule linked here

Our ceremony will be held at Ambledale Farms - 1211 Beaver Point Rd, Salt Spring Island, BC V8K 1X2, Canada

The reception is at Beaver Point Hall — 1361 Beaver Point Rd, Salt Spring Island.

Beaver Point Hall is a charming, historic community space with beautiful hardwood floors and a covered area outside, but the celebration will mostly be indoors.

  • Please arrive on time!
Our amazing marriage commissioner has another event to get to after ours, so we’d love for everyone to be there for the start.

    • Arrival at Ceremony: 2:15pm (champagne on arrival!)

    • Ceremony Begins: 2:45pm

    • Ceremony Ends: ~3:15–3:30pm

    • Photos & Cheers: 3:30~4:30

    • Arrive at Reception: ~5pm

    • Reception Kicks Off: 5:30pm

    • Speeches and Dinner: 6:00pm

    • Reception Ends: When Ryan blacks out

  • We strongly recommend bringing your own vehicle or carpooling. Taxis on the island are limited. If you are staying far away please add a note to your RSVP and we’ll try and organise something.

    Our beloved D
ouglas does not like to drink and LOVES to designated drive (highschool Maggie can attest to this) so there should be trips leaving throughout the evening.

  • This is a casual, come-as-you-are kind of wedding!

The ceremony is outdoors — pack layers, sun protection, and something waterproof just in case.

  • We truly don’t want or expect any gifts — we’re just stoked to celebrate with you. That said, supposedly if you say ‘no’ to gifts people will arrive with Pyrex and toasters, and there is absolutely no room in the suitcases for that ;)

So, if you really feel like you want to contribute something, we’ve popped a few honeymoon experiences below that we’ve got on our list to do while we’re in Italy.

But please, no pressure at all!

  • Day Before (8 August)

We’ll be on the island getting things sorted. We’d love to gather informally with anyone around that evening for some food and a casual drink. Update to come!

    Day After (10 August)

If you’re still on Salt Spring, join us for a relaxed day—swims, games, maybe a visit to a cidery. Bring your togs (swimsuits for the Canadians) and towels and let’s see where the day takes us!

  • Camping

    • Ruckle Park (4 min drive from the reception)

    • Mowhinna Creek Campground – near Ganges, highly recommended!

    Airbnb

Available across the island! Book soon!

    Other Options

    • Ruckle Heritage House – very close to Beaver Point Hall and (as of writing) still available for 8–10 August

  • Please fill out the form below and let us know if you can make it, along with any dietary restrictions, allergies etc.

    • Ceremony = phone-free zone please. We’ll have a photographer!

    • Guest list is intentionally small (~30 people). We want it to feel special and intimate.

    • Good vibes only!

For those asking about gifts

We truly don’t want or expect any gifts — we’re just stoked to celebrate with you. That said, as mentioned above, if you say ‘no’ to gifts people bring Pyrex and toasters… and there’s no room for that in our suitcases! If really want to contribute, we’ve popped a few Italy honeymoon experiences below!

  • They say a well fed husband is a happy husband! Better yet, a happy wife who’s husband knows how to cook!

  • I (Maggie) always wanted a man who rode a motorcycle. Alas, Ryan is more of a vespa guy!

  • A toast to the married life, in the beautiful Italian countryside!

  • Beautiful boat tour off the coast of Sicily!
